Welcome to 2019!

My brain is dealing with being back on a full weeks schedule after have those two holiday weeks "off" and Wix wants me to add "an engaging title" at the top. That was about as engaging as I could think of today. :-D

After all the flurry of wrapping paper and Apples to Apples cards over the holidays, I sit here at the front desk and look around at all the beautiful decorations that need to come down and think, "Hey, I'll leave them up and call it decorating early.” Yeah, that won’t fly.

So, sometime over the next few days I shall begin to dismantle Christmas here at the library. My only hope is they go back into the totes just as easily as I took them out. It’s like packing for a trip or setting up a tent. It never quite fits the same as when you initially packed.

A few fun things going on here since the New Year began. In the photo you can see we are seriously trying to get organized. This will be an Olympic size challenge and one we will overcome! Kmart’s loss was our gain and we now have some neat shelving to go into our “Do Not Enter” room as the kiddos call it. One set also serves as cubbies and a bench in the children’s area. Pretty neat!!

Another amazing thing, we started a life skills program at the high school! Thanks to a grant, we are supplying a small group of youth with some basic skills to help them over the summer and then hopefully in the fall we’ll get a full blown class going.

There have been many adults asking about a class for themselves and that is currently in the works.
